My new black turn signals arrived, so I decided to install them really quick before wifey comes back home.
First one took 2 minutes - insert credit cart, undo the clip, and wiggle it out.
Second one... first the lens broke off of the old one. Then the case wouldn’t come out. The part that was stuck - I hit it with a screwdriver and got it loose and it went inside the fender. I tried pulling it out with pliers, destroying the already damaged case. A chunk of it broke off as I was pulling and the whole thing disappeared in the fender. I tried all the tools I had to fish it out, but no luck.
Then, I had to jack the car, which has no typical jack points. I finally got it up (manual says take it to the shop if it needs to be jacked up), took the wheel off, undid the fender lining, found the wire, took of the broken element, installed the new one, put the lining back, reinstalled the wheel, all in time for a call from the wife, letting me know our new to us 2017 Acura RDX with 18000 miles is shifting hard.
Car gods are not on my side this week, with the Tundra having a drained battery yesterday because the driver door didn’t close all the way.
On the positive note, black blinkers look pimpin’!!

That is definitely a better option.

Wow those are 2 unfortunate events. I believe there is a class action lawsuit on that generation of Acura’s for transmission failures.
It is extremely common, and it is not a new problem for Acura. Even back in the 90's their automatic transmissions were too weak for the mighty V-Tec- yo V6's.
People cross shop the RDX/MDX with the Lexus RX a lot, and I had an Acura with a failing auto trans for a bit. Kinda sours the brand to me, I don’ t see the appeal.

This generation has transmission issues? I thought those were on 2010 or so V6 models.
It only jerked twice, both in a few minutes span. I’m definitely going to keep an eye on it.

I have had this happen more times than I can remember—one of two goes great, two of two results in blood loss and multiple trips to the hardware store. Tinted markers look great; slapped clear side ones on both my vehicles and think it looks miles better than the OEM amber we get on this side of the pond.

Thanks! Thankfully, no blood and no store trips.
